Font Size and Contrast
In many popular web browsers you can easily enlarge the font and increase the contrast. Use these commands on any website you visit.
Windows Internet Explorer 8, 9, and 10
Font Size
- Open the View Menu
- Select Text Size
- Select a size from Largest to Smallest
Contrast (Windows XP or Windows 7)
These steps change the color scheme and contrast in every application, not just your web browser.
- Click on the Start button
- Open the Control Panel
- Open "Accessibility Options" or "Ease of Access" depending on which version of Windows you are using.
- In the Accessibility Options window open the Display tab. In the Ease of Access window, choose Optimize visual display.
- Follows the prompts to select options for High Contrast.
- Click OK to apply your changes.
Firefox on Windows
Font Size
- Open the View Menu
- Select Zoom
- Select Zoom In or Zoom Out to increase or reduce text size
- Or select Reset to return to normal size
Keyboard shortcuts:
- Zoom in: Control + (Plus)
- Zoom out: Control – (minus)
- Reset to normal size: Control 0 (zero)
Contrast
- Open the Tools Menu
- Select Options
- In the Options window open the Content tab
- Click on the Colors button
- In the Colors window choose your preferred colors for text, background and links
- Uncheck the checkbox that says "Allow pages to choose their own colors"
- Click OK to close the Colors window and click OK again to close the Options window and apply your changes
Firefox on Mac
Font Size

- Select Zoom In or Zoom Out to increase or reduce text size

- Select Preferences
- In the Preferences window open the Content tab
- Click on the Colors button

Safari on Mac

- Or select Actual Size to return to normal size
